Tim Tebow, the New Jork Jets newly-acquired quarterback, spoke before an estimated crowd of 30,000 people on Easter Sunday, as he delivered the sermon at the Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas.

Georgetown is an Austin, Texas suburb of 47,000 people.

Pastor Joe Champion said the service would be their “Super Bowl” but that the event was not to glorify Tebow but to honor Easter season.

To accomodate the 30,000 worshippers, the church erected bleachers on its 60-acre property.

Broncos replace Tebowmania with Peyton Manning at QB

Peyton Manning (file photo)

Eventhough Tim Tebow brought nationwide noteriety to the Denver Broncos last season with his inspiring, miracle play at quarterback, reports out of the Mile High City kept saying that owner Pat Bowlen and front office executive John Elway were not sold on him as their future leader.

As soon as the Indianapolis Colts cut Peyton Manning, the Broncos name came up.

The Broncos now have Manning as their starting quarterback.

Contract details have not been announced, but there has been an agreement in principle that he’ll be playing for Denver in 2012.

The other teams in the Manning sweepstakes were the 49ers and Dolphins and Titans.

With the signing of Manning, there is no doubt that Tebow, the team’s first-round pick in 2010, will be traded.

Manning missed all of the 2011 season due to rehabbing from a series of neck surgeries.

Without him, the  Colts went from being one of the best NFL teams to the worst and it cost head coach Jim Caldwell his job.

Urban Meyer, the new Buckeyes head football coach

Eventhough its been the top story-line around Ohio for about a week, there’s really no surprise that Urban Meyer has accepted Ohio State’s offer to become the new football coach.

When Meyer said that he had not talked to Ohio State after all of the rumors were surfacing, everybody knew that was a lie. All coaches say that.

Reports have it that the 47-year-old Meyer, a native of Ashtabula, Ohio, will receive a 7-year, $40 million deal, which comes out to $5.7 million a year.

The former Florida Gators coach is one of three football coaches to win 100 games in his first 10 years: George Woodruff 124 wins at Penn State 1892-1901, Bob Stoops at Oklahoma 109 wins 1999-2008 and Meyer is third with 104 victories 2001-2010.

Also, Meyer along with Alabama head coach Nick Saban, are the only two coaches to win multiple BCS titles with 2.

Meyer, who is an offensive genius and can develop quarterbacks (Tim Tebow & Josh Harris), will be trying to improve Ohio State’s offensive unit which was fifth-worse in FBS at 124 yards per game.

It’s official, Tebow will start at QB for Denver!

The Denver Broncos have made the decision to replace Kyle Orton with Tim Tebow at quarterback.

Tebow, who is a play-maker with his scrambling ability, started three games as a rookie in 2010, but lost out to Orton during preseason camp. Broncos fans have been calling for the team to give him a shot since the Denver got off to a bad start at 1-4.

The move was expected and anticipated after head coach John Fox inserted Tebow into the lineup last week and he almost led a second-half comeback in replacing the erratic Orton. Denver lost 29-24 to San Diego at home. The Broncos trailed 23-10 when the former Florida Gators star took the QB reins on their first possession of the third quarter.
