Maher buys minority interest in New York Mets

Stand-up comic and political satirist Bill Maher, visited Citi Field over the weekend and revealed to the media that he had purchased minority interest in the New York Mets several months ago.

The 56-year-old Maher, a New York native, grew up in nearby New Jersey and has been a Mets fan all of his life.

He did not reveal how much he spent or how much of a percentage he owns in the team.

His career influences have been Johnny Carson, George Carlin, Steve Allen, Don Rickles and Robert Klein.
