All week long leading up to the game with Springfield, the Hilliard Davidson players were answering questions from fans and media, how would they stop the backfield of Trey DePriest and George Walker.

The Wildcats let their football abilities do the talking as their defense dominated the Springfield offensive line in a surprising 9-0 win.

Surprising in the fact that both teams have explosive offenses.

The Division I game was played at Selby Field on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware and drew 6,500 people.

Hilliard Davidson, now 12-0, will play Pickerington Central who is 11-0 in the regional championship game this weekend.

The Wildcats had basically two drives that won the game. The first one was a 12-play, 74-yard drive that culminated with Alex Mickley scoring on a 1-yard TD drive with 6:35 left in the first quarter. The second drive was on their third possession of the football, a 15-play, drive that ended with J.D. Detmer kicking a 28-yard field goal.
