Steve Kerr returns to TNT Network after leaving Suns

Steve Kerr didn’t stay unemployed for long. He on his way back to TV and will be staying there for awhile.

The former general manager of the Phoenix Suns has agreed to return to TNTĀ  as a game analyst and will begin work starting with the 2010-2011 season.

Kerr had spent four seasons calling games for TNT before joining the Phoenix Suns in 2007. He announced earlier in June that he was leaving the Suns, shortly after they reached the Western Conference finals. He was asked by the owner of the Suns to take a pay cut and refused.

The five-time NBA champion said he wanted to spend more time with his family. He has two childern in high school and another in seventh grade.

Kerr said that he decided to go back to TNT to replace Doug Collins, who took the Philadelphia 76ers’ coaching job. He states that he will staying for a long time even if he is offered another general manager’s position.

Kerr will be a part of TNT’s Thursday night doubleheader coverage, plus the network’s All-Star weekend and playoff coverage. He’ll also be a contributor to NBA TV and nba.com.
