The Dayton Dragons were well represented at the Midwest League All-Star Game in Davenport, Iowa.

Pitchers Josh Smith, Daniel Corcino and first baseman Dominic D’Anna played for the East Division All-Stars.

The East All-Stars lost to the West, 8-3. Nino Leyja of Burlington hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and the West scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a commanding lead and eventually the win.

Smith was the starting pitcher for the East Division team and pitched one inning, throwing a perfect first inning while striking out two batters.

Corcino pitched the fourth inning and allowed a solo home run to Wisconsin’s Chris Dennis which was the first run of the game. Corcino allowed two hits and was charged with the loss.

D’Anna entered the game as a pinch hitter in the top of the eighth inning and flied out to left field in his only at bat of the game.
