Washington, Cooper help Ohio end Kent State’s home win streak

The Ohio Bobcats received a balanced effort in their 88-87 overtime win at Kent State.

The win for the Bobcats (16-13, 8-6 MAC) helped snap the 13-game home victory streak for the Golden Flashes (19-10, 10-4 MAC).

DeVaughn Washington scored 20 points, D.J. Cooper had 14 assists, Ivo Baltic dropped in 16 points and Nick Kellogg 15 for the Bobcats.

Kellogg, Washington lead Ohio to close win over Ball State

Nick Kellogg scored five straight points in the final minutes to cement the Ohio Bobcats win over the Ball State Cardinals in Mid-American Conference game.

DeVaughn Washington scored 16 points to help the Bobcats cause.

Kellogg scored on a three-pointer and stole a pass and scored another field goal to give the Bobcats momentum.

Ohio Bobcats ends losing streak with win over Eastern Michigan

The Ohio Bobcats have ended their recent losing skid of three games, as they rebounded to beat  Eastern Michigan, 79-65.

The Bobcats shot a season-high 54 percent from the floor. They connected on 7 of 10 three-pointers and 14 of 18 free throws in rolling up a halftime advantage of 45-29.

The Mid-American Conference battle saw Ohio improve its record to 9-11, 2-4 and Eastern Michigan drops to 5-14, 2-4.

DeVaughn Washington led Ohio with 20 points, while DeSales graduate Nick Kellogg contributed 15.

Buffalo Bulls beats Ohio behind Filzen’s shooting

In Mid-American Conference action, Buffalo defeated Ohio, 73-68.

The Bulls were led to victory by Zach Filzen’s career-highs with six three-pointers and 23 points as Buffalo upped its record to 11-6 overall, 3-2.

Buffalo overcame a big halftime deficit of 18 points to win the game.

Ohio, which dropped to 8-11 overall, 1-4, were led by DeSales graduate Nick Kellogg who scored 14 points.

Kellogg leads Ohio to win over Akron

Columbus DeSales graduate Nick Kellogg, son of former Ohio State & NBA star Clark Kellogg, scored a season-high 23 points, D.J. Cooper had a season-high 15 assists and the Bobcats of Ohio University led from the opening jump ball.

Ohio beat Akron 79-70 in Mid-American Conference action.

Kellogg made 6 of 9 shots from three-point range, and Cooper added 13 points and eight boards.

Steve McNees led Akron with 15 points.

Ohio is 8-8 on the season, 1-1. Akron drops to 10-6, 1-1.
