Bengals waive erratic Pettrey; sign Stitser

After losing former Ohio State product Mike Nugent to a season-ending knee injury in the Indianapolis game, the Cincinnati Bengals are still trying to find a kicker to replace him.

They brought in Aaron Pettrey, another Ohio State kicker and he struggled. Pettrey was 2 for 4 on field goal attempts in two games. He missed a 27-yard attempt in a 26-10 loss at the New York Jets on Thanksgiving night.

Bengals fall to 2-9 with loss at the Meadowlands to the Jets

The Cincinnati Bengals rarely ever win at the Meadowlands complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, whether they’re playing the New York Jets or New York Giants.

So when they ventured into the new Meadowlands on the banks of the Hudson River on Thanksgiving night, who would think they would win.

They played the Jets tough but once again another loss.

Brad Smith, who can play QB, RB or WR for the Jets as a Mr. Everything player, torched the Bengals for two long touchdowns in a 26-10 win.

The former University of Missouri quarterback scored on an 89-yard kickoff return and a 53-yard touchdown.

The Jets at 9-2 are tied for the best record with New England and the Bengals lost their eighth straight game in a horrid season to fall to 2-9.

The Bengals led 7-3 at halftime.
