The much-rumored trade of Darrelle Revis became reality on Sunday.

The New York Jets traded their shut-down cornerback to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2013 Number 13 overall draft pick and a 2014 pick.

The 2014 pick for the Jets will be a conditional one, either a third or fourth rounder.

Revis has agreed to a new contract consisting of six-years, $96 million and no guaranteed money.

Tim Tebow, the New Jork Jets newly-acquired quarterback, spoke before an estimated crowd of 30,000 people on Easter Sunday, as he delivered the sermon at the Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas.

Georgetown is an Austin, Texas suburb of 47,000 people.

Pastor Joe Champion said the service would be their “Super Bowl” but that the event was not to glorify Tebow but to honor Easter season.

To accomodate the 30,000 worshippers, the church erected bleachers on its 60-acre property.

The Cincinnati Bengals have had to do some shuffling of coaches on the defensive side of the ball after assistant coach Kevin Coyle left to go to Miami to be the defensive coordinator of the Dolphins.

The team has hired former New York Jets assistant coach Mark Carrier as their new defensive backs coach, filling Coyle’s vacancy.

Carrier was an NFL safety for 11 years with the Bears, Lions & Redskins. He  spent the past six years as an assistant coach with the Ravens as defensive backs coach for four and two years as the defensive line coach of the Jets.

The Bengals also gave a promotion to Paul Guenther to linebackers coach replacing Jeff FitzGerald.

Guenther has been with Cincinnati in various coaching roles for the past eight years. Last year, he spent time with the special teams and defensive backs.

Mike Zimmer is still the defensive coordinator.

Despite feud with teammates, Holmes appears to be staying with Jets

Santonio Holmes (file photo)

During the last regular season game against the Miami Dolphins, where the New York Jets had to win to get the sixth spot for the AFC playoffs, they lost 19-17.

In that game, several Jets players thought that Santonio Holmes quit on the team. They said so and their words were put out over Twitter and Facebook. His teammates all said they didn’t want him back.

Well, it seems like all is forgiven.

The former Ohio State wide receiver will be staying with the Jets after remaining on their roster for the second day of the NFL’s waiver period.

Holmes will get $15.25 million dollars in guaranteed money for the next two years.
