Tony Parker scored 19 points and the San Antonio Spurs won their 10th in a row with a 116-92 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Spurs are off to their best start in franchise history, improved to an NBA-best record to 11-1, while extending their longest winning streak in nearly three years.

Mo Williams scored 21 points and Daniel Gibson had 17 for Cleveland, who played the night before in New Orleans.

The Spurs made 12 of 25 from the three-point line and had a season-high 32 assists, including nine from Parker and Matt Bonner hit four three-pointers.

The Cavs have lost five of their last six games.

Cold-shooting hurts Cavs in loss to New Orleans, 108-101

The Cavaliers lost in New Orleans, 108-101. Generally, in the team’s losses this season, they usually have one bad quarter; during this game, it was the second quarter.

The Cavs were doomed from there as the Hornets scored 15 straight points and held with Cleveland with no points for 4:26.

But the Cavs showed resiliency by coming back and cutting an 18-point lead to 104-101 with 21.1 seconds left but they fell short.

Cavs head coach Byron Scott really wanted the game badly. After all, he was the Hornets coach last year and was fired just nine games into the season. The move angered several players like Chris Paul and David West.

Cavs forward Antawn Jamison finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds and 3 three-point baskets.

David West scored 34 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead 10-1 New Orleans. He had 12 points in the fourth quarter and made key-play-after key-play to help the Hornets win.

Browns upset world champion Saints using gadget plays

The Cleveland Browns, according to media sources, spend a few minutes at practice each week working on gadget plays just in case they need to use them in a game.

In Sunday’s game against New Orleans, the Browns used, not one, but several trick plays.

They include, a 68-yard run by their punter Reggie Holmes, a 62-yard throwback by Joshua Cribbs to Eric Wright on a punt return, a 13-yard pass from running back Peyton Hillis to quarterback Colt McCoy, in upsetting and stunning the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in the Superdome, 30-17.

This is the third straight season that Cleveland has upset a defending Super Bowl champion. In 2008, the New York Giants, 2009, the Pittsburgh Steelers and now the New Orleans Saints.

On defense, the Browns were using all types of fronts and alignments that basically made Saints quarterback Drew Brees look like a rookie. It was one of his worst games in the NFL, throwing four interceptions.

Colt McCoy and the Cleveland offense had an impressive fourth quarter drive that chewed up 7:34 on a 13-play, 50-yard drive.

The 2-5 Browns now go into the bye week having won two of its last three games.

Roethlisberger returns as Steelers steamroll Browns, 28-10; Colt McCoy shines for Browns

When the 2010 NFL training camps opened, most NFL experts around the country felt the Steelers would be in trouble having to use backup quarterbacks Dennis Dixon, Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich during Ben Roethlisberger’s four-game suspension.

Well, the Steelers are going to overcome any adversity and they did. Even without their suspended QB Ben Roethlisberger, for violating the NFL’S personal conduct policy after a Georgia college student accused him of sexually assaulting her in a bar back in March, the team went 3-1.

Ben Roethlisberger returned Sunday for a home game against the injury-riddled Cleveland Browns and looked like he never missed a game or practice. He threw 3 touchdown passes and with the help of the defense, pushed the Steelers in control of the AFC North Division.

The Steelers are 4-1 and back in first place in the division as they will embark on a tough three-game road road trip to Miami, New Orleans and Cincinnati. Those are three cities where it is tough to win and the Steelers say they’re ready for the challenge.

The bright spot for the Cleveland Browns is that rookie QB Colt McCoy played as if he was an NFL veteran against one of the top 5 defenses in the league. Starting due to ankle injuries to veterans Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme, the former Texas Longhorns star showed why he was a Heisman candidate the past two years, going 23 of 33 passing for 281 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.

The Cleveland Cavaliers played Saturday’s game without Antawn Jamison (sprained knee), Anthony Parker (sprained fingers on right hand), Mo Williams (groin) and Anderson Varejao (ankle).

Head coach Byron Scott would not except excuses for not winning the game. CSKA Moscow won the exhibition contest, 90-87. The Cavs fall to 4-2 in the preseason.

Cleveland has two preseason games remaining. The Cavaliers play Philadelphia on Tuesday night in Cincinnati and will play Milwaukee on Thursday night in Columbus.

Ramunas Siskauskas scored 22 points and Jamont Gordon chipped in with 19 to lead CSKA Moscow, which finished its tour of games against the NBA with a 1-2 record.

CSKA Moscow, a European League powerhouse team, lost to Miami and New Orleans this past week.

Daniel Gibson scored 21 points to lead Cleveland in scoring. He was backed by Ryan Hollins with 17 and Ramon Sessions with 14.
