NBC’s coverage of the London Olympics saw prime-time viewing finish up by 8% over the Games in Beijing. That increase allowed the London Summer Games the highest-rated staged outside the United States since 1976.

NBC’s overall London coverage drew a total of 219.4 million unique viewers. A unique viewer is if they watch at least six minutes. That broke the record from Beijing and became the USA television event with the most viewers of all-time.

Bengals WR Green passes Collinsworth’s rookie receiving yardage record

Cincinnati Bengals rookie A.J. Green is starting to become the new star at wide receiver now that Chad Ochocinco is gone.

The quiet rookie from the University of Georgia caught 2 passes for just 25 yards in Sunday’s 23-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals, but it allowed him to pass fan-favorite Cris Collinsworth for the franchise record for rookie receiving yards.

Green now has 1,031 yards to eclipse the 1,009 that Collinsworth, currently a broadcaster for NBC, amassed in 1981.

Collinsworth still holds the record for receptions by a rookie with 67. Green currently is at 63 and has a chance to tie or even pass that mark this week against the Baltimore Ravens.
