The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the Chicago Bears at London’s 90,000 seat Wembley Stadium on October 23 if the NFL season isn’t cancelled due to a labor dispute.

This will be the fifth year in a row that the National Football League will play a regular-season game in London.

Dawson remains with Browns

Phil Dawson (file photo)

Towards the end of the 2010 NFL season, placekicker Phil Dawson thought that the Cleveland Browns did not want him to return. After all he is 36 years old.

He was expected to go through free agency in March and prepared for it by selling his suburban Cleveland home and moved his family back to his home state of Texas.

The Browns have placed its franchise tag on Dawson, who is the only player remaining from its 1999 expansion team. The Texas native will make $3.25 million next season and still could sign a long-term deal with Cleveland.

Dawson is the first player franchised by the Browns since their return to the National Football League.

Dawson is under-paid as far as kickers go, making $1 million last season while making 23 of 28 field goals and all 28 extra-points on an-offensive challenged team.

Dave Walkosky has resigned as Head Football Coach at Tiffin University, to pursue other career opportunities.

Walkosky made his debut in 2008, posting a 1-10 record in Tiffin’s first year in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a number of close losses. The Dragons fell off to 0-11 in 2009 and recently completed the 2010 season this past Saturday with a 1-10 record.

During his tenure, Tiffin placed another athlete into the National Football League, as Chris Ivory signed with the New Orleans Saints, joining Tennessee’s Nate Washington, as the only former Dragons football players to end up with NFL contracts.

Walkosky posted a 2-31 overall record in three seasons with the Dragons.

Walkosky comments on his tenure at Tiffin: “I am proud that I was able to touch some young men’s lives during my short time at Tiffin. I feel that I was able to help them become better men. I was also privileged to help coach an NFL-caliber player in Chris Ivory, and also proud of what a number of our players accomplished over that time.”
