The Cincinnati Bengals have officially hired Adam Zimmer to be the assistant defensive backs coach.
He is the son of the Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
Zimmer has been an assistant coach with the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs, where he worked with the linebackers from 2010 to 2012.
He worked for the Saints from 2006 to 2009.

The Cincinnati Bengals have moved defensive backs coach Hue Jackson to the offensive side of the ball to oversee the running backs. He replaces the retired Jim Anderson.
The Bengals have hired Adam Zimmer, son of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer to coach the defensive backs.
All of the moves were made on Tuesday.

Reports are surfacing that the Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms with former Dallas Cowboys CB Terence Newman.
Dallas recently cut Newman, is another former first-round pick signed by the Bengals during this off-season.

In his nine seasons with Dallas, Newman started 131 games and recorded 112 passes defensed and 32 interceptions.
Last season, Newman started all 14 games he played and had four picks, including a 43-yard interception-return touchdown.
Newman will be re-united with Mike Zimmer, the Bengals defensive coordinator, who was his coach in Dallas.
Newman will probably be a back-up player and gives the Bengals’ defensive backfield depth with Leon Hall recovering from an Achilles injury.

The Cincinnati Bengals terminated the contract of safety Chris Crocker, making him a free agent.
Crocker, who just turned 32 in March, said that Bengals team president Mike Brown and head coach Marvin Lewis told him why they made the move, but also left the door open for a possible return later.
A graduate of Marshall University, Crocker signed a $10 million, 4-year contract on February 27, 2009. He had one-year left on the deal.
Crocker, who was drafted into the NFL by the Cleveland Browns in the 3rd round in 2003, 84th overall pick, was one of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer’s captains that helped Cincinnati to two playoff appearances in the past three years.
In 2010, he injured his medial collateral ligament and missed the final half of games in 2010.
He came back at full strength to play every game in 2011.
Crocker has also played for Atlanta and Miami in his NFL career.
His career stats includes, 471 tackles, 13.0 sacks and 10 interceptions.

There are reports out of Cincinnati and the internet, that the Cincinnati Bengals are taking a look at and trying to sign 33-year-old cornerback Terence Newman who was let go by the Dallas Cowboys recently.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis speaking at the NFL owners meetings, believes that Newman can become a solid defensive back again if he can be reunited with Mike Zimmer, who coached him while with Dallas. Zimmer, currently is the defensive coordinator of the Bengals.
Newman, is a 2003 graduate of Kansas State and played for the Cowboys from that time through 2011.
In his career, Newman has 532 tackles and 32 interceptions.
