NBA PLAYOFFS: Eastern and Western Conference (Saturday results)

compiled from wire reports

John Salmons (nba)

John Salmons scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting, Kurt Thomas had 8 point, 13 rebounds and the Milwaukee Bucks never let up after a hot start in 107-89 Game 3 win after a three-day layoff.

Atlanta still leads the series 2-1 after two-double=digit wins at home, when the bcuks looked overmatched without the injured Andrew Bogut.

Milwaukee is 12-26 at the Bradley Center in the playoffs.

Kevin Durant Thunder (nba)

Kevin Durant scored 22 points, Russell Westbrook added 18 points and eight rebounds, and the Thunder evened the first-round series against the Lakers with a 110-89 victory in Game 4.

For the second straight game, the Thunder capitalized on a significant edge at the foul line and on the boards despite the presence of the Lakers’ 7-foot tandem of Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.

Oklahoma City never trailed after the opening 5 minutes and led by double digits for the final three quarters in a thorough dismantling.

Among those seated at courtside in Oklahoma City were Governor Brad Henry, NFL wide receiver Mark Clayton and Gerald McCoy, the former Oklahoma defensive tackle taken third overall by Tampa Bay in the NFL draft.

Brandon Roy (nba)

Portland coach Nate McMillian and team owner Paul Allen, the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft were convinced by Brandon Roy to let him play despite skepticism by team doctors.

Roy was activated off injured reserve and then helped Portland to a 96-87 win over Phoenix that evened their series at two games apiece.

Eight days removed from arthroscopic surgery on right knee, Roy made his surprising return to the court to the theme from  “Rocky” blasting from the Rose Garden sound system. Roy then made a key 3-pointer late in the game that shifted the momentum to the Trail Blazers.
