Eagles QB Vick says he’ll be ready for opener


Even with injured ribs, three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Michael Vick told reporters that he is “doing good. feeling better,” and that there is no reason why he won’t be ready for the opening game of the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles visit the Cleveland Browns in Week number 1 and that is the target date Vick is shooting for.

His backup at quarterback is Nick Foles.

Foles is a 23-year-old rookie out of Arizona. The 6’5, 243-pounder was a third round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, 88th pick overall.

Eagles give Vick new deal worth $100 million

The Philadelphia Eagles and quarterback Michael Vick agreed to a six-year contract that will once again make him one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Several reports on Radio, TV and the internet say that the deal is worth $100 million with about $40 million of it guaranteed.

Vick back in Nike fold; signs new deal

Saying that they “support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field,” Nike has re-signed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick to an endorsement deal Friday.

The deal comes after Nike dropped him in August 2007 due to his legal problems being involved in a dogfighting ring. Vick spent 21 months in prison.

Michael Vick named NFL Comeback Player of the Year

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been selected as the 2010 Associated Press NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.

In a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league regularly, Vick beat out Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams.

Vick missed two seasons while serving a federal sentence for dogfighting, then spent his first year back in the league as a seldom-used backup behind Donovan McNabb.

Vick then took advantage of McNabb’s trade to Washington and the concussion to Kevin Kolb in week two, to become the Eagles starter and led the team to the NFL East title.

Patriots Brady chosen NFL Offensive Player of the Year

Tom Brady was chosen as the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in four seasons this week.

The record-setting quarterback, who had a string of 355 passes without an interception, received votes from a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league regularly. He beat out Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Brady was a unanimous choice for the All-Pro team as he threw for 36 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions in leading the New England Patriots to a 14-2 record.

Vick finished fourth in the passer rating category with a career-best 100.2, threw 21 touchdown passes with only six interceptions. He also rushed for nine touchdowns and 676 yards.
