Eagles QB Vick says he’ll be ready for opener

Even with injured ribs, three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Michael Vick told reporters that he is “doing good. feeling better,” and that there is no reason why he won’t be ready for the opening game of the season.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been selected as the 2010 Associated Press NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.

In a nationwide panel of media members who cover the league regularly, Vick beat out Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams.

Vick missed two seasons while serving a federal sentence for dogfighting, then spent his first year back in the league as a seldom-used backup behind Donovan McNabb.

Vick then took advantage of McNabb’s trade to Washington and the concussion to Kevin Kolb in week two, to become the Eagles starter and led the team to the NFL East title.
