Long-time head coach Dick Reynolds has his Otterbein Cardinals basketball team on a hot streak.

Wednesday night, they defeated Ohio Northern on the road 64-46 in Ada, Ohio.

The team improves to 9-9, 5-6 in the tough Ohio Athletic Conference.

The win breaks a sixth-place tie between the two teams in the OAC standings.

The Polar Bears dropped to 7-11, 4-7.

The Cardinals started out well at 15-6, then the defense held ONU to just three points over the next six minutes and pushed the lead to 28-11 and then to 36-14 at halftime. ONU managed to shoot just .194 (6-of-31) from the field.

Chris Davis, this week’s OAC Player of the Week, scored 19 points with ten rebounds. Max Van Meter helped out with 15.

Scott Schnelle led ONU with 10, the only player for the Polar Bears in double figures scoring.
