Atlanta Falcons beat Baltimore Ravens in last 20 seconds

Roddy White, who is having an unbelievable season, hauled in a 33-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan with 20 seconds left as the Atlanta Falcons after giving up a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, rallied to beat the Baltimore Ravens 26-21 Thursday night in Atlanta.

The Falcons, now 7-2, led 20-7 after Ryan went to White on a 4-yard touchdown with 11:34 remaining, but Baltimore (6-3) rallied back as quarterback Joe Flacco’s two TD passes, the second going to Todd Heap on a 9-yard reception with 1:05 left.

But the Falcons were not going to be denied, who are 18-1 at home with Ryan as their starting quarterback. He needed less than a minute to pull off an 88-yard drive, hooking up with former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Jenkins on a huge third-down pass along the sideline before going back to his best receiver for the game winning score.

Bengals lose to Atlanta; offense seems better in no-huddle mode

The Cincinnati Bengals came into the season trying to do something that has never been done in franchise history; win back-to-back division titles. And consecutive playoffs, which they’ve done once, 1981 & 1982.

Currently at 2-4 and the Miami Dolphins (3-3) coming to Cincinnati on Sunday, the road gets tougher the last 10 games.

The Bengals lost in Atlanta on Sunday because they simply couldn’t stop WR Roddy White and QB Matt Ryan on defense and the offense waited a whole half to get going. Plus they were penalized on both sides of the ball for having 12 men on the field.

The defending AFC North champions have lost three straight games, making it a longshot for them to gain the playoffs for a second straight season. They trail Pittsburgh by three games, Baltimore by two and are just a half-game ahead of last-place Cleveland.

Atlanta pulled ahead 24-3. But when the Bengals turned to the no-huddle offense, they were clicking and rolling and rallied to lead 25-24.

By using the no-huddle offense, which they should do every possession, it allows QB Carson Palmer to get into a rhythm and he simply excels in it. Cincinnati scored on all three third quarter possessions as Palmer went 13 of 14 for 214 yards and two touchdowns.

The season can turn around starting with a win this Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium against the Miami Dolphins.
