The Columbus Blue Jackets wanted to accomplish several things on Saturday night against the Edmonton Oilers.

One, the CBJ wanted to continue the momentum they acquired on Friday night with a 3-0 shocking win over Detroit at Joe Louis Arena.

Second, it was Geoff Sanderson night, who was an early star in the early days of the 10-year history of the franchise.

Third, they were playing one of the worst teams in the NHL and did not want to lose two important points.

The Blue Jackets got down 2-0 in the first period on goals by Magnus Paajarvi and Dustin Penner.

R.J. Umberger started the comeback with his first goal of the game in the opening period, at the 14:19 mark and it was 2-1.

Columbus had a nice second period where they dominated play and Kristian Huselius scored his 10th goal of the season on a rebound shot at 14:35 and the game was 2-2.

In the third period, Paajarvi scored his second goal of the game at the 5:31 mark on a wide-open shot and it was 3-2 Edmonton.

Columbus was not going to be denied. Umberger scored his second goal of the night, number 19 of the season at 13:44 and it was a tie game at 3-3.

Then Huselius came in on a 1-on-1 rush and scored his second goal of the game, 11th of the season at the 16:00 mark and the Jackets had won back-to-back games.

Three Stars of the game were: R.J. Umberger, Blue Jackets RW, two goals, two assists. Kristian Huselius, LW, Blue Jackets, two assists after being benched. Magnus Paajarvi, LW, Oilers, scored twice on open shots.
