In a surprise move, Washington Capitals head coach Dale Hunter quit his job less than a season behind the bench.

He told the Capitals team that he wanted to spend more time with his family in Canada.

Hunter, who replaced the popular Bruce Boudreau in November, is the owner of the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, a junior hockey team that is playing for the Memorial Cup. One of Hunter’s sons is the assistant coach and his brother, Mark took over as the head coach when Dale took the Capitals job.
