COLUMBUS CITY LEAGUE FOOTBALL, Week 4: Brookhaven dominates East in 47-6 victory

GAME REPORT FROM TAMALA GORDON

There is no doubt that the Columbus East Tigers are an improved team from the 1-9 bunch from 2011.

It’s understandable with Lewis Carter at the helm that the team would be improved.

But the Tigers still have to prove that they can beat the City North Division heavyweight teams of Beechcroft, Brookhaven, Mifflin and Northland.

Brookhaven was the first test and the Tigers failed in Friday night’s contest, losing 47-6 at home.

The Bearcats (2-2, 1-0) led 27-6 at the half and coasted from there on.

Marquis Greeenhow rushed for three touchdowns to lead the Bearcats.

COLUMBUS CITY LEAGUE FOOTBALL: East Tigers looking for improvement in 2012, wins against West

GAME REPORT FROM NOAH MONDAY

The East High Tigers are tired of being the annual patsies in the Columbus City League North Division football race.

Last year, they were 1-9, averaged 9.2 points per game but gave 29.9. They lost two games by a total of five points.

So, head coach Lewis Carter and his staff are looking for improvement.
