The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is back on the court.

But not even Kobe Bryant could save his team from losing to the Toronto Raptors.

Amir Johnson scored a career-high 32 points in leading visiting Toronto to a 106-94 win to stop a five-game losing streak.

Bryant in his 18th season and the NBA’s fourth-leading scorer in history, had not played since rupturing his Achilles tendon in April against the Golden State Warriors.

He scored nine points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out four assists ans turned the ball over eight times in 28 minutes of action.

The Los Angeles Sparks have hired Atlanta Dream assistant Carol Ross to replace Joe “Jellybean” Bryant as their new coach.

Bryant, who is the father of Lakers star Kobe Bryant, started his second stint as the Sparks head coach last summer replacing Jennifer Gillom who was fired.

Before becoming a coach in the WNBA, Ross spent 12 seasons coaching Florida, where one of her players was forward DeLisha Milton-Jones of the Sparks. She also spent four years at her alma mater Mississippi. Ross had a career record in 16 seasons at the Division I of 324-161, with 12 NCAA tournament appearances and two WNIT bids.

Ross spent the past three seasons with Atlanta, which reached the WNBA finals in 2010 and 2011.
