Unbelievable! Cavaliers 102 Heat 90

J.J. Hickson (file photo)

The Cavaliers with only 15 wins are having a disappointing season, no doubt.

But they’ve had their moments, beating star-studded teams in the Lakers, Celtics and Knicks.
Now, they’ve beaten the one team everybody said could not be beaten by anybody; the Miami Heat with LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.
James, the former local hero-turned enemy, was making his second return to Cleveland since leaving as a free agent last summer.
The Cavs almost blew a 23-point lead, as the Cavs took down the mighty Heat, 102-90.
J.J. Hickson scored 21 points and Anthony Parker had 20 points for the Cavs who got revenge on the Heat and James who embarrassed them 118-90 on December 2, the first time James returned to Cleveland.
James had a nice game but nothing great, 27 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. He said after the game that his former team deserves to have a winning team.
The sellout crowd of 20,562 received a scare when the Heat came back from 23-points down to tie it at 83 on Mike Bibby’s seventh three-point goal of the game with 7:03 left. But the Heat went on scoreless for 4:24 and the Cavs took advantage going on a 12-0 run to put the game away.
Cavs shooting guard Anthony Parker took the public address microphone after the game and told the crowd, ” You deserve this win.”
The loss snapped the Heat’s five-game winning streak.

The Cleveland Cavaliers after winning against the Knicks, fell back to losing against Utah.

The Jazz made the Cavs pay for poor defensive play and won 101-90 at Quicken Loans Arena. The loss was the 11th in their last 12 games for Cleveland as they fall to 8-20.

Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan moved into a tie for third place on the all-time wins list behind Don Nelson (1,335) and former Cavs coach Lenny Wilkens (1,332).

Utah was led in scoring by forward C.J. Miles with 22 points, forward Paul Millsap and guard Raja Bell added 19 points apiece as the team improved to 20-9.

The Cavs trailed 49-44 at the half.

Daniel Gibson, who is starting to become one of the team leaders on the Cavs, set regular-season career highs in points (29) and three-point baskets made (seven in eight attempts).
