Ohio Bobcats run into buzzsaw at Kent State; MAC title chase gone

The Ohio Bobcats have been the host team in the Mid-American Conference the past two months.

Everybody felt that they would breeze to a win at Kent, Ohio on Friday, against the Kent State Golden Flashes.

Kent State was playing it’s final game under head coach Doug Martin, who announced his resignation last Monday.

The Bobcats did not play or look like a MAC title contender as they fell at Dix Stadium, 28-6.

Quarterback Boo Jackson was sacked seven times, threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles.

The Bobcats lost a chance to play in the MAC championship game as the East Division champion. But instead, their arch-rival Miami RedHawks will represent the East against the MAC West champion Northern Illinois on Friday in Detroit, Michigan.

The Bobcats end the season at 8-4, 6-2 in the MAC East.
