The University of North Carolina announced recently that their basketball program will be losing three of its top players to the NBA.

Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Kendall Marshall will be entering the upcoming NBA draft.

This group has made a nice two-year run for the Tar Heels deep into the NCAA Tournament only to fall one game short of the Final Four each season.

It is not known if the players will hire agents or not.

Barnes, a 6’8 sophomore, led the team at 17.1 points a game.

Henson, a 6’11 junior, was a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference defensive player of the year.

Marshall is a 6’4 sophomore, who won the Cousy Award which is presented to the nation’s top college point guard and set the ACC’s season assist record.

The North Carolina coaching staff, players and campus was stunned when Larry Drew II, son of Atlanta Hawks head coach Larry Drew, quit the team so suddenly on February 4.

The Tar Heels, the 2010 NIT runner-ups to the Dayton Flyers, are ranked 23rd in the country this year.

Drew has announced that he will be transferring from the Tar Heels program.

The junior recently lost his starting spot in the lineup to freshman Kendall Marshall.
