With win against Marshall behind them, Buckeyes look ahead to Miami Hurricanes

Buckeyes LB Ross Homan talks to media (megasportsnews.com)

The Ohio State Buckeyes rolled Marshall on Thursday night 45-7. Their next opponent, the Miami Hurricanes came through as well, a 45-0 shellacking of Florida A&M.

Both teams were able to escape their opening games without any major injuries. Which sets up their showdown for Week 2 of the young college season.

Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel had a solid formula working on offense where they had good balance by distributing the ball to all of their playmakers. The defense shutdown Marshall’s spread offense and had a plus-three in turnovers.

Shortly after their game with the Thundering Herd, the Buckeyes quickly turned their attention to Miami and their showdown on September 11 in the Horseshoe against the 13th-ranked Hurricanes.

It’ll be the first meeting between Miami and Ohio State since the 2002 national championship game.

Ohio State prevailed in that game in the Arizona desert, by upsetting the top-ranked Hurricanes 31-24 in double-overtime for Ohio State’s first national championship in 34 years.
