Fan-favorite Jim Les fired by Bradley Braves

When you talk about Bradley University Braves basketball, Jim Les, Hersey Hawkins and Dick Versace are three names that all fans of the program talk about with much appreciation.

Jim Les became the head coach nine years ago, but lost his star-status amongst the Peoria, Illinois’ school’s media contingent, alumni and administration.

Director of Athletics Dr. Michael Cross earlier this week announced that Jim Les has been released from his duties, effective immediately.

Les completed his ninth year as Bradley head coach with a final record of 154-140 (.524), including a 74-88 (.458) mark in Missouri Valley Conference games. He led the Braves to four consecutive postseason appearances in the middle of his tenure, highlighted by a run to the 2006 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
