It was a very long night in Rochester, New York as the Columbus Clippers rallied from two huge deficits and beat the Red Wings, 11-7.

The two teams waited out a one hour and forty-one minute rain delay at Frontier Field in upstate New York.

The Red Wings led 5-0 after two innings and 7-1 after four frames.

The huge rally started for the Clippers in the sixth. Thomas Neal led off the sixth with a single to center field. Nick Johnson followed with a walk. Jared Goedert delivered an RBI double and the score was 7-4. After Paul Phillips walked to load the bases, Tim Fedroff hit a double down the left field line, knocking in two runs and the score was 7-6. With one out, Luis Valbuena hit an RBI single and just like that it was 7-7. With still only one out, Chad Huffman cranked out a two-run triple and the Clippers were up 9-7 scoring six runs in the inning to take control of the game.

Zach Putnam worked his second inning in the ninth and shut the door on the Red Wings to get his 8th save. Matt Langwell (1-0) picked up his first win of the season for the Clippers.
