Northland athletic director Greg Reamsnider knew there would be tough competition when trying to select the right man to replace James “Satch” Sullinger as the new boys basketball coach starting next season.

The winner of the competition is Eastmoor Academy head coach Sean Taylor. He’ll move from the City South Division to the City North.

Taylor was very successful in the very tough City South with Eastmoor. In 11 seasons, he recorded a record of 148-97 in 11 seasons, highlighted by a Division II district championship in 2003 when the Warriors were 20-3.

He’ll have quite a tradition to uphold at Northland. The Vikings are coming off an incredible run in which it has gone 121-6 with a state championship, a state runner-up, four district titles and five City League championships in five years.

Next season, he’ll have the two 6’8 bookend forwards to work with in Jalen Robinson and Devon Scott to lead the team.
