BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL Tournament action: Out-of-sync Northland survives scrappy Olentangy Liberty

Game report from George Cleveland

Northland did not play like a #2 seed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament action in Division I.

The 22-1 Vikings were shaky, lethargic and full of mistakes in a 59-52 win over Olentangy Liberty.

Northland led 16-8 at the end of the first quarter, 28-25 at halftime, 39-35 at the end of the 3rd quarter. They never could shake off the Patriots (16-7) entirely.

The Patriots, a team that plays quick defense and can shoot 3′s, never looked intimidated at all in the contest at the Ohio Expo Center Coliseum.

Trey Burke scored 20 points for Northland and teammate Jalen Robinson chipped in with 13 and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Jake Bischoff led Liberty with 17 points.

Northland will play Westerville Central, who upset Upper Arlington, in the District final this week.
