Walnut Ridge traveled to City League South Division foe Africentric and came away with an easy 72-0 triumph.

The Scots, one of the top programs in the South Division along with Marion-Franklin, Eastmoor Academy, Independence and West, scored 41 first-half points to put the game out of reach early.

Jaishon Johnson scored four touchdowns for a Scots’ team which carved out eight scoring plays of 38 yards or longer.

The Nubians, who were 2-8 in 2011, have a low-number of students participating in football. They drop to 0-4, 0-1.

What do Actress Beverly D’Angelo, Restaurant owner Cameron Mitchell, CBS News’ Erin Moriarty and golfer Jack Nicklaus have in common?

They are all notable alumni of Upper Arlington High School.

Those alums would be proud as their Golden Bears defeated the Walnut Ridge Scots with two, 20-points quarters in a 43-20 rout.

Gus Ackley rushed for 120 yards and Chris Frey ran for 118 to lead UA.

The bright spot for the Scots, members of the City League South Division, was a second half kickoff return for a touchdown by Jaishon Johnson.
