Two days after becoming the youngest winner on the LPGA Tour, 16-year-old Lexi Thompson is planning on petitioning for an exemption to the tour’s 18-year-old age requirement.

Currently, Thompson is getting ready to play in the Solheim Cup in Ireland, this coming weekend.

LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan says he’ll consider the petition.

Thompson shot 17 under to win the Navistar LPGA Classic last weekend, making her the youngest champion by more than two years.

In 15 months since turning professional, Thompson has played in 14 events, with three top-10 finishes and has earned more than $500,000.

Thompson is also the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Open, as a 12-year-old in 2007.
