Women’s British Open leader Tseng has 3-shot advantage

Yani Tseng earned her third straight 4-under 68 on Saturday, and takes a four-stroke lead into the final round of the Women’s British Open in Southport, England.

The 21-year-old Taiwanese golfing star took full advantage of the short 472-yard, par-5 final hole by hitting an 8-iron to within 20 feet with her second shot. She rolled it in for an eagle putt to finish off her round, padding her cushion over Katherine Hull of Australia.

Choi made a 2 1/2-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to beat fellow South Koreans In-Kyung Kim and Song-Hee Kim and American Christina Kim.

Choi had rounds of 64, 67, 68 and 71 to finish at 14-under-par 270. It took a 15-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to extend her chance at a win after she had blown what had at one time been a five-stroke lead.

The playoff holes were 17 and 18, both par 5′s.
