Ohio native Stacy Lewis wins LPGA event in Singapore

American Stacy Lewis won the HSBC Women’s Champions Tournament in Singapore, for her sixth career LPGA title.

Born in Toledo, Ohio and a product of the University of Arkansas, Lewis overcame two bogeys and some erractic putting on the back nine to hold off South Korea’s Na Yeon Choi by one shot.

The 28-year-old Lewis turned pro in 2008.

Stanford wins LPGA Tour event in Singapore

American Angela Stanford is the winner of the 2012 HSBC Women’s Champions Tournament in Singapore, with a par on the third playoff hole.

The TCU grad from Texas, defeated South Koreans Jenny Shin and Na Yeon Choi and China’s Shanshan Feng.

All four women finished tied at 10-under 278.

Stanford is 34 years and now has 6 wins as a pro golfer.

Webb wins HSBC Champions tourney

Karrie Webb of Australia used four straight birdies on the back nine to roar past Japan’s Chie Arimura for a one-shot victory at the HSBC Women’s Champions Tournament.

Webb finished the event with a 3-under-par 69 for a 13-under-par 275 at Singapore’s Tanah Merah Country Club.

The victory by Webb is the 37th of her LPGA Tour career.
