The second half of the 2011 season got underway and the Columbus Clippers did not cooperate as their sloppy play let to a 7-4 loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Indians at Huntington Park, their seventh loss in eight games.

Leading 5-2, Indy put the game away in the eighth inning. With two outs and runners at first and second, Corey Wimberley had an RBI single to left field. The second run of the inning scored when Gorkys Hernandez scored on a passed ball by Paul Phillips to make it 7-2.

The Clippers went 1-2-3 in the eighth inning and left two men on in the ninth and that was the game at 7-4.
