Walnut Ridge at Briggs, huge City South battle tonight on HIGH SCHOOL BOUNCE at 7 pm

Tonight’s HIGH SCHOOL BOUNCE will be in the Columbus City League South Division and it’ll be a huge game.

The Walnut Ridge Scots (7-0, 4-0) will travel to Briggs (6-2, 3-0). Game time is 7 pm, pre-game at 6:40 right here on the website. LISTEN LIVE by clicking here.

The Scots defeated arch-rival Eastmoor Academy on Friday and Briggs beat Independence so both teams come in with momentum.

Walnut Ridge under Jason Bates has also defeated Thomas Worthington, South, Independence, West, Pickerington North and Dublin Scioto.

The Bruins of Briggs are coached by Tony Rice, who is the school’s all-time points and assists leader, has beaten Franklin Heights, Groveport, Olentangy, West, South and Independence.

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: Local football teams to change divisions in 2011

There are several Columbus area football teams that will be changing divisions this fall in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s biennial realignment based on enrollment.

Moving to Division I from Division II are Dublin Jerome, Dublin Scioto, Hilliard Bradley, Olentangy, Olentangy Orange and St. Charles.

Moving to Division II from Division I are Franklin Heights, Marion Harding, Mount Vernon, Northland, West and Worthington Kilbourne.

Other schools being affected include, Centennial and Independence moving to Division III from Division II, Bishop Ready moving form IV from V and Africentric moving from VI from V.

BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL Tournament action: Northland wallops Franklin Heights

The Northland Vikings pushed their record to 21-1 on the season as they ran Franklin Heights off the court, 75-36.

Trey Burke scored 16 points and dished out 10 assists to lead the way.

Devon Scott chipped in with 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Second-seeded Northland won in Division I sectional play and ended Franklin Heights’ season at 1-20.
