Duke Indoor Stadium, now known as Cameron Indoor Stadium, was opened in 1940 and has been a huge advantage for over 940 games for the Duke Blue Devils.

They’ve run off streak-after-streak-after-streak over the years for the basketball teams.

Going into this past weekend’s game against Florida State, the 4th-ranked Blue Devils had a 45-game winning streak in hand and was looking at 46. But the Seminoles had other ideas.

Michael Snaer connected on a three-pointer as the time clock expired and the Seminoles upset Duke 76-73 to end the 45-game winning streak.

Snaer scored 14 points which also included a banked-in three-pointer at the end of the first half buzzer as Florida State ups its record to 13-6, 4-1 ACC and won its fourth straight game.

The Blue Devils drop to 16-3, 4-1 ACC were led by Austin Rivers with 19 points.

The Auburn Tigers were the national champions last year. But this postseason, they’ve taken a step back to 7-5 and will have to play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.

This year’s team, without star QB Cam Newton, had a sluggish offense, a porous defense and were blown out in several games.

They’ll take on a young team in the Virginia Cavaliers who are 8-4.

The Cavaliers are making a return to postseason play after a three-year absence and will be playing in the Chick-fil-A Bowl for the first time since 1998.

The Tigers have one of the top rushing offenses (174.8 yards per game) in the country. The Cavaliers are one of the top 40 rushing defenses in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Virginia, during a four-game winning streak won its first ACC road win since 2009 and its first win at Florida State.

When Tommy Amaker was head coach at Michigan, the fans said he could not coach.

Well, in his fifth year at Harvard University, the former Duke basketball star has his team amongst college basketball’s elite.

The Crimson, at 8-0 and a win over then-ranked Florida State, joins four other teams in the recent AP top 25. Georgetown, Illinois and Creighton have been there before, but not Harvard.

Amaker guided the Boston area school to its first Ivy league title last season.

Harvard is the first Ivy League school to be ranked since the Princeton Tigers move into the top 10 in the 1997-98 season.

The only other Ivy League school to be ranked since 1970 is Pennsylvania, which last visited the polls in January 1995.

Brown University is the only school from the Ivy League not to ever make the polls.
