Known as the “Monster Mile”, Dover produces long runs and tough action with speeds in excess of 170 mph. It’s one of the most challenging tracks on the NASCAR circuit.

Dover, opened in 1969 and was designed to accomodate horse racing and motor sports. The track will undergo renovation after this season with seat-widening from 18 to 22 inches and that’ll drop capacity to 113,000.

2011 FedEx 400/Autism Speaks 400:

Matt Kenseth decided to get two new tires on his last pit stop and was able to hold off Mark Martin for his second win of the season. Marcos Ambrose, Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers finished 3-4-5.

In the last 10 Cup races at Dover, Jimmie Johnson has won three races.
