He said he was not consider retiring. But if Monday’s exam had revealed he wasn’t physically able to continue playing football, he had no problem retiring.

The 38-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback had no trouble passing the exam on his neck that was surgically repaired two years ago.

The exam is part of his five-year, $98 million dollar contract that he signed when joining the Broncos.

Broncos replace Tebowmania with Peyton Manning at QB

Eventhough Tim Tebow brought nationwide noteriety to the Denver Broncos last season with his inspiring, miracle play at quarterback, reports out of the Mile High City kept saying that owner Pat Bowlen and front office executive John Elway were not sold on him as their future leader.

As soon as the Indianapolis Colts cut Peyton Manning, the Broncos name came up.

The Broncos now have Manning as their starting quarterback.

Contract details have not been announced, but there has been an agreement in principle that he’ll be playing for Denver in 2012.

The other teams in the Manning sweepstakes were the 49ers and Dolphins and Titans.

With the signing of Manning, there is no doubt that Tebow, the team’s first-round pick in 2010, will be traded.

Manning missed all of the 2011 season due to rehabbing from a series of neck surgeries.

Without him, the  Colts went from being one of the best NFL teams to the worst and it cost head coach Jim Caldwell his job.

Reports say that the Oakland Raiders are going to hire Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as their new coach replacing Hue Jackson.

The only snag holding up the deal is an agreement on a contract.

The 39-year-old Allen will be the first Oakland head coach with a defensive background since Al Davis hired John Madden back in 1969.

The Raiders have not confirmed the hiring as of yet.
