It took golfer Adam Scott awhile to make up his mind that he would play in the AT&T National tournament. But he is showing that the decision to do so has been to his benefit.

Scott, an Australian, made a couple of long birdie putts and hit a 5-iron to 2-feet for birdie on the 14th hole en route to a 4-under-par 66 Thursday to share the lead with Hunter Haas.

Dean Wilson, Jhonattan Vegas, Kyle Stanley and Lancaster native Joe Ogilvie were all tied at 67.

Only 28 of the 120 players in the tournament managed to break par at Aronomink, just outside the Philadelphia area.

Pettersson rallies to win Canadian Open

Carl Pettersson rallied to win the Canadian Open in Toronto, for his fourth PGA win. He ended a solid week with a tournament record, 10-under-par 67 for a one-stroke victory over Dean Wilson.

The 32-year-old Pettersson, the former North Carolina State alum from Sweden, finished at 14-under-par 266 at the hilly, St. George’s course.

The 40-year-old Wilson, using a sponsor exemption which allowed him to play, shot a 72 in Sunday’s final round after opening with three straight rounds of 65′s to take a four-stroke lead into the final round.

Pettersson pressed the issue after falling six shots behind Wilson after seven holes. Being four behind with seven holes to play, he made a 15-foot birdie putt on the par 3 13th hole to pull to within one, then took the lead with a 25-footer on the 480-yard, par 4 14th hole.
