David Nelson, who co-starred with his parents and younger brother, Rick on the popular TV show “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” which ran for 14 seasons from 1952-1966, totaling 435 episodes, has died at age 74 after battling complications of colon cancer.

Nelson died at his home in the Century City section of Los Angeles, a family spokesman said.

Nelson was born in New York City and moved to Los Angeles with his parents and attended Hollywood High School and USC.

In the beginning, “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” was on radio and when it moved to television, David and Rick convinced their parents to be on the show.

Many of the 435 episodes on ABC-TV were directed by David, who was the last surviving member of the TV family.

Nelson was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, four sons and a daughter and seven grandchildren.

Browns offense a dud in loss at Buffalo

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis ran for 108 yards to put him over 1,000 yards for the season, that’s the good news. The bad news is that the Browns offense earned only nine first downs and 187 yards while failing to pass midfield in the second half in a disappointing 13-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

David Nelson scored the games only touchdown of the game as Buffalo upped its record to 3-10. The Bills other two stars of the game were kicker Rian Lindell had two field goals and running back Fred Jackson rushed for 112 yards.

The Browns dropped to 5-8.
