Anna Nordqvist rallies to win LPGA’s Kia Classic

26-year-old Swedish golf star Anna Nordqvist came back to win the LPGA’s Kia Classic Sunday in Carlsbad, California.

The win was her seventh as a professional golfer.

The Arizona State product was two shots behind the leaders, Cristie Kerr and Lizette Salas entering the final round.

Nordqvist got her game together and closed with a 5-under-par 67 for a one-shot win over Salas.

It was the second straight round that the Sweden native closed with a 5-under 67.

Begay charity challenge goes to Kerr, Mahan

Christie Kerr and Hunter Mahan combined for an 11-under-par 61 to win the Notah Begay Challenge by one shot over Annika Sorenstam and Rickie Fowler in Verona, New York.

Begay’s best friend, Tiger Woods and Suzann Pettersen were two shots back in third and Natalie Gulbis and Begay finished fourth in the best-ball charity challenge.

Tseng wins fourth LPGA career major tourney in Rochester

Yani Tseng, the number-1 ranked golfer in the world, won the LPGA Championship by 10 strokes and became the youngest golfer to win four LPGA Tour majors at age 22.

Tseng went wire-to-wire as the tournament leader after opening with rounds of 66, 70 and 67. It was her eight career LPGA Tour win, second in a row and third of the season.

Tseng closed the final round with a 6-under 66 to finish at 19-under 269 at Locust Hill Country Club outside of Rochester, New York.

The native of Taiwan match the LPGA record low score at a major.

Finishing second was Morgan Pressel (71), Cristie Kerr (69), Suzann Pettersen (67) and Paula Creamer (69) tied for third at 8-under-par.

Tseng captures State Farm Classic

Top-ranked women’s golfer Yani Tseng won the LPGA State Farm Classic in Springfield, Illinois.

Tseng closed with a 4-under-par 267 total to win by three strokes over Cristie Kerr.

The win was the 15 professionally for Tseng.

The 22-year-old has had a short, but successful career being named the 2008 LPGA Rookie of the Year and the 2010 LPGA Player of the Year.

Lincicome edges Shin and Kerr in NJ

LPGA star Brittany Lincicome won her first tournament in two years when she sank a 4-foot putt on the final hole over the weekend to win the ShopRite LPGA Classis in Galloway Township, New Jersey.

The 25-year-old’s birdie topped-off a bogey-free round of 5-under-par 66 that gave her a one-shot win over #3 Jiyai Shin and #4 Cristie Kerr.

One of the longest-hitting golfers on the LPGA Tour, Lincicome won her first tournament  since the 2009 Kraft Nabisco and her fourth on Tour.

The Seminole, Florida native finished the the 54-hole tournament at 11-under. The key to the win was her play on the par 5′s where she earned seven birdies, an eagle and a par.

Lincicome turned pro in 2004.
