NBA PLAYOFFS: Eastern and Western Conference Sunday and Monday

Dwayne Wade (nba)

Dwayne Wade set franchise playoff records with 46 points, 30 in the second half, and Miami beat Boston in Game 4 of an Eastern Conference first-round series, 101-92.

The Heat opened the fourth quarter with on a 25-8 run, fueled mostly by Wade, who made 16-of-24 shots from the field, plus he added five assists.

George Hill (nba)

George Hill scored 29 points, helping San Antonio overcome a miserable night from Tim Duncan and took a 3-1 lead over Dallas in its first-round series winning 92-89.

The Spurs have won three straight since coach Gregg Popovich criticized some of his players.

Carlos Boozer (nba)

Carlos Boozer had 31 points and 13 rebounds, Deron Williams added 24 points and 13 assists, and Utah held off a late charge to beat Denver for a 3-1 lead in its Western Conference playoff series. Utah wins 177-106.

Carmelo Anthony finished with 39 points and led the Nuggets back within range late in the fourth quarter, but Denver never caught all the way up and lost for the third straight time in the series.


Vince Carter (nba)

Vince Carter had 21 points, Jameer Nelson added 18 and the Orlando Magic showcased their depth and pressure shot-making in a 99-90 win over the Charlotte Bobcats to complete a sweep of their first-round series.

Dwight Howard was held to six points in his fourth straight game in foul trouble, but the Magic never flinched to accomplished their first four-game sweep in franchise history.

Carlos Delfino (nba)

Carlos Delfino scored 22 points with six 3-pointers and Milwaukee pulled off its second straight playoff surprise, beating Atlanta to draw even in the first-round series.

Brandon Jennings scored 23 points and John Salmons added 22  for the Bucks who won 111-104.

Channing Frye (nba)

Reserves Channing Frye and Jared Dudley broke out of their series-long shooting slumps with 20 and 19 points, respectively, and Phoenix overcame an early 14-point deficit to rout Portland, 107-88 win and take a 3-2 lead in the first-round playoff series.

Dwight Howard (nba)

LeBron James and Dwight Howard were unanimous choices for the All-NBA Team, while Kobe Bryant received 119 of 122 votes from writers and broadcasters.

James was unanimous pick for the second straight season and made his fourth All-NBA Team. the Cleveland megastar won the NBA MVP award for the second year in a row.

Kevin Durant and Dwayne Wade completed the first team on Thursday. Durant led the NBA in scoring for Oklahoma City with a 30.1 average, and James was second at 29.7. Howard led the league in rebounding with a 13.2 average and also averaged 18.3 points.

Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudamire, Steve Nash and Deron Williams were selected to the second team. Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bogut, Joe Johnson, and Brandon Roy were third-team picks.

Paul Pierce (nba)

Paul Pierce’s 21-foot jumper at the buzzer, with injured Miami star Dwayne Wade watching helplessly from the Heat bench,  gave Boston a 100-98 win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference  first round series.

The Celtics lead the best of seven 3-0, and will go for the sweep Sunday in Miami. No NBA tem has ever rallied from an 0-3 deficit.

Wade hurt his left calf after missing a 3-pointer with 14 seconds left, with replays showing he landed on Celtics guard Ray Allen’s foot. Wade crumpled to the court and was carried off  by the training staff.

Pierce finished with 32 points and Allen had 25 points.

Wade scored 34 points with 8 assists and five rebounds.

Tim Duncan (nba)

San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili, playing with a bandage across his broken nose after being bumped by Dirk Nowitzki’s elbow. He led the Spurs to a 94-90 win against the Mavericks.

Ginobili scored 11 of his 15 points in the wild fourth quarter. He was diagnosed with a nasal fracture.

The Spurs took a 2-1 lead by surviving the NBA’s best road team, and Nowitzki torching the Spurs for 35 points.

Tim Duncan scored 25 points for the second straight game for the Spurs.

Paul Millsap (nba)

Paul Millsap had career-highs of 22 points and 19 rebounds, rallying Utah from a sluggish start and defeat the Denver Nuggets, 105-93.

The Jazz lead Denver 2-1 in the series. The game was played in Salt Lake City where the Nuggets don’t play well at all.

Utah limited Denver’s Carmelo Anthony to 25 points and flustered him into five fouls.

Millsap made his first nine shots and finished 11 of 14 from the floor for Utah, which completely dominated the second and third quarters after Denver had pulled ahead in the first quarter by 11 points.

Deron Williams Utah (nba)

The Utah Jazz, playing short-handed in the frontcourt due to injuries and illnesses to Andrei Kirlenko and Mehmet Okur has let that stop them from winning. They beat Denver 114-111 despite 32 points from Carmelo Anthony.

The Jazz were led by Deron Williams with 32 points and 14 assists and Carlos Boozer with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony scored a playoff career-high 42 points and J.R. Smith’s fourth-quarter flurry of 3-pointers helped Denver beat Utah in Game 1 in Denver of the Western Conference playoff series.

Anthony, whose previous playoff high was 41 points against Dallas in the second round last year, benefitted from the absence of Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirelenko who would’ve been guarding him. Kirelenko will not play in the series due to a re-injured left calf strain.
