Crew midfielder Daniel Paladini undergoes successful leg surgery

The Columbus Crew have had their share of injuries this season.

One of the wounded, include 29-year-old midfielder Daniel Paladini.

Last week, the Crew announced that the Northridge, California native had underwent successful surgery for internal fixation for a tibia and fibula fracture.

Paladini has begun recovery and is out for the remainder of the 2014 MLS season. He will be sidelined a total of 16 weeks.

The injury was suffered during a practice session. The operation was performed by surgeon Dr. Corey L. Van Hoff, M.D. at Ohio Health’s Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus on Tuesday, September 16.

A seasoned MLS veteran, Paladini has also played for the LA Galaxy, Chivas USA and the Chicago Fire.

Being from Northridge, California, he stayed home to play for Cal State-Northridge of the Big West Conference. In 2005, he was named Midfielder of the Year by that conference.

American Huh wins PGA Tour event in Mexico

New York native John Huh is the 2012 winner of the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Huh parred the eighth playoff hole with Robert Allenby.

Sunday’s final round playoff matched the second-longest in PGA Tour history.

Huh closed the tournament with an 8-under-par 63 to tie Allenby with a 65 at 13-under 271.

The 6’0, 190-pound Huh now lives in Los Angeles and has 2 pro wins.

He is a graduate of Cal State-Northridge and turned pro in 2008.
