Cam Newton has had a fantastic 2010 football season for the Auburn Tigers. One of successful play and controversy about possible NCAA violations.

With all of that aside, he lead his Tigers teammates back from a 24-point deficit in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Friday afternoon, for a 28-27 win over the ninth-rated Crimson Tide.

The 2010 Iron Bowl game was played in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Newton, a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy, threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, helping Auburn on track for the BCS title game.

The Tigers are now 12-0, 8-0 in the Southeastern Conference.

Auburn trailed 21-0 in the first quarter before it picked up it’s initial first down of the game.

But trailing is nothing new to the Tigers; they’ve trailed in eight of 12 games this year.

Newton, the University of Florida transfer who had a chance to learn from Tim Tebow, but knew he would never get a chance to play for the Gators and thus transferred up to Auburn.

The 6’6 junior QB completed 13 of 20 passes for 216 yards, but was sacked four times.

After winning the national championship last year, Alabama now has a 9-3 overall record, 5-3 in the tough SEC.
