Old Dominion beats Cleveland State in Bracketbuster game

The Old Dominion Monarchs beat the Cleveland State Vikings, 74-63 in the Bracketbuster weekend.

Frank Hassell and Ben Finney combined to score 22 points and grabbed 28 rebounds.

ODU led 44-43 when a 14-3 run salted the game away.

The Monarchs improve to 22-6 while the Vikings fall to 23-6.

In OT, Ohio survives Winthrop

DeVaughn Washington scored 25 points and Tommy Freeman helped out with 21 to lead Ohio over Winthrop in the BracketBuster game, 77-74 in overtime.

Ohio improves to 14-13 while Winthrop drops to 12-15.

Wright State will host Hofstra on ESPNU during BracketBuster weekend

The Wright State men’s basketball team will be hosting Hofstra on Saturday, February 19, at 11 am Eastern time on ESPNU as part of the annual BracketBuster event.

The game will be one of 11 games televised on the ESPN family of networks. WSU has been chosen for an ESPN format game for the fourth time in the last five years.

The Raiders are 17-9, 10-4 in the Horizon League, while Hofstra is 14-8, 8-3 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Wright State is 3-3 all-time in BracketBuster games, having won the first three over Northern Illinois in 2005, Bowling Green in 2006 and Cal State Fullerton in 2007. They have lost the past three years to Illinois State in 2008, Northeastern in 2009 and Ohio in 2010.
