Vinny Prospal has been a huge pickup for the Columbus Blue Jackets this year.

He is filling in for Kristian Huselius who is out with an injury.

Friday (Tonight) at Nationwide Arena, Prospal will achieve an NHL milestone.

The left winger will play his 1,000th game when the Jackets host the Buffalo Sabres.

He’ll become the sixth player from the Czech Republic to join that special club.

The others include: Roman Hamrlik (1,331), Bobby Holik (1,314), Jaromir Jagr (1,292), Radek Dvorak (1,139) and Petr Svoboda (1,028).

The 6’2, 198-pound Prospal is a 1993 71st-overall draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers.

He has played for the New York Rangers, Anaheim, Tampa Bay, Florida, Ottawa and the Flyers twice.
