Northland High School grad Trey Burke has been playing quite well as a true freshman for #20 Michigan.

In Tuesday night’s win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Columbus, Ohio native scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half as the Wolverines used an early 19-point run to a 63-50 win.

Burke, added six rebounds and seven assists and was 3 of 5 from three-point land.

The 8-2 Wolverines received 16 points from Evan Smotrycz.

The Golden Lions, who received 23 points from Lazabian Jackson, fall to 1-6.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff is on sort of a long road trip like the Blue Brothers, as their first home game isn’t until January 14.

Recapping the 2009 LifeLock.com 400, Mark Martin dominated 195 of the 267 laps and pulled away from Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin on a late-race restart.
