Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert has bought the Cleveland Gladiators franchise of the Arena Football League.

The Gladiators were and instant hint with fans in the Lake Erie city early in their formative days, but they have been struggling to get fans into Quicken Loans Arena in the past few years.

Their training camp starts in February.

The ownership group led by Gilbert, purchased the team from Jim Ferraro, an attorney who has owned the team since 2000.

Ferraro took the franchise to Las Vegas in 2002 and moved it to Cleveland in 2007. Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar is a part owner and advisor.

Jacory Harris (Miami photo)

J12 is the nickname they call Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris.

He starts the 2011 season having his name listed among the school’s all-time quarterbacks on the stat list: Ken Dorsey, Vinny Testeverde, Steve Walsh, Gino Torretta, Craig Erickson, Bernie Kosar and Brock Berlin.

The Ohio State game will be Harris’ first of the season after being suspended for the Maryland game. Harris appears in six different career records categories.

Harris is ranked third all-time in pass attempts, passing yardage and total offense, second in touchdown passes thrown and sixth in pass completions percentage.

Harris is on a pace to pass Ken Dorsey in two categories, needing to complete 161 passes and attempt 284 passes to become the record holder. In 2010, he connected on 148 passes and attempted 270.

Harris moved into sole possession of second place in touchdown passes thrown all-time on October 23, 2010 when he threw touchdown passes to LaRon Byrd, Travis Benjamin and Leonard Hankerson against North Carolina.

In touchdown passes all-time, Harris has 50, but Ken Dorsey has 86.
