Danica ready for full-go in NASCAR in 2012

The past two years, Danica Patrick had been trying to learn how to drive the stock cars of NASCAR with barely any success.

She said it was hard to do both series, the IRL and NASCAR at the same time.

In 2012, she has no more excuses in making the transition, as she will be driving in NASCAR fulltime.

The former IndyCar star will be competing in the Nationwide series fulltime for JR Motorsports.

She’ll also be racing 10 Sprint Cup events for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Her teammate in the Nationwide Series will be Aric Almirola.

Bodine, who won his first title in 2006, joined Ron Hornaday, Jr. (four) and Jack Sprague (three) as the only truck series drivers to win multiple championships.

Bodine ends Kyle Busch’s win streak in NASCAR Truck series

When Kyle Busch started last weekend’s NASCAR Trucks race at Kentucky Speedway, he was looking to tie a record. He was trying to match Bobby Allison, Fred Lorenzen, David Pearson and Richard Petty as the only drivers on the circuit to win five consecutive NASCAR events.

Well. Todd Bodine had other ideas and came away with a victory at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky.

Bodine recovered from an earlier spinout, one that occured when Kyle Busch edged a little too close to Bodine’s rear quarterpanel.

Bodine’s win, ended Busch’s three-series winning streak at four with a magnificent fuel-saving run.

The series points leasder managed to get 58 laps out of one tank of fuel to beat out Johnny Sauter (2nd) and Aric Almirola (3rd) while putting a halt to Busch’s hold onto to Victory Lane, which lasted two weeks.

Jason White came in third and Ricky Carmichael was 5th.

Bodine and Busch had a get together in Chicagoland two weeks ago and the two were at it again at the 1.5 mile oval in northern Kentucky.

The two drivers were battling for the lead after the halfway point of the race when Bodine was trying to take the lead from Busch on lap 82. He lost control of his truck coming out of Turn 4 and slid across the infield grass. There were nothing wrecked on his truck, so he took a pit stop on lap 92.

Bodine was able to unbelievably go 58 laps on one tank and won the race to extend his lead over Aric Almirola to 261 points with seven races to go.

Bodine and Busch had words after the race as Bodine says that he is tired of Kyle Busch’s lack of respect for other drivers and that NASCAR does nothing about it.
