Pastrana will race 20 events on NASCAR Nationwide circuit this season

Travis Pastrana is planning a 20-race schedule for the #99 car with Pastrana-Waltrip Racing in 2012.

Pastrana was supposed to make his highly publicized debut in the Nationwide Series last year in Indianapolis and seven races total to run. But a broken ankle shot down those plans.

His ankle was broken in the X Games.

He took time off to heal and then had time to film “Nitro Circus: The Movie” completed, he is ready to go.

The 28-year-old Pastana was born in Annapolis, Maryland. His uncle, Alan Pastrana, was a quarterback for the University of Maryland Terrapins from 1965 to 1968. Pastrana himself is a University of Maryland product.

Navy and Penn State will renew football series in 2012

Navy and Penn State will be renewing their football rivalry in 2012.

The schools announced on Wednesday that they will be meeting at Beaver Stadium on September 15, 2012, in their first game since 1974. To be able to schedule the Navy game, Penn State’s previously announced home game with Temple on the same date, has been moved to September 22, 2012.

Navy was victorious in that game when head coach George Welsh, a former Penn State assistant, led the Midshipmen to a 7-6 upset over the number 8 Nittany Lions in State College.

The Nittany Lions lead the series 18-17-2. The series began in 1894 with a 6-6 tie in Annapolis, Maryland which is a Baltimore suburb.
