Each day passes and the Cleveland Cavaliers get more bad news to deal with.

The team announced recently that center Anderson Varejao will miss the rest of the due to a torn tendon in his right foot that will require surgery.

Varejao is the team’s best defensive player who was averaging 9.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season.

The past few months have not been the best for Varejao.

He left the team during training camp when his grandfather died in Brazil. A short time later, his father had heart surgery.

On December 29, Varejao suffered a broken cheekbone during a game in Charlotte and had to wear a mask to protect the area.
